the Colonial city of San Cristobal de las Casas, in the museum and guest house “Na Bolom”, founded by the late Dane explorer, Frans Blom, and the late Suiss ethnographer and photograher, Gertrudis Duby. The space was developed since 1996 with contributions from the American Express Foundation, the Germany Embassy, Aid To Artisans, the World Bank, among others, to promote, rescue and conserve indigenous Maya crafts from the Chiapas Highlands and Lacandon Rainforest and will serve as a point of departure for thousands of tourists who visit Chiapas each year, where Maya Indians led a revolt to press for recognition and human rights on 01 January, 1994.
